Forest clearance for two projects

HYDERABAD: The Union Ministry of Environment & Forests on Monday gave clearance to Stage II of Vamsadhara II project in Srikakulam district and Kovvada Kalva project in West Godavari.

The clearance, covering 77.2 hectares of forest land in the two cases, came after the State Government fulfilled the conditions specified by the Ministry and answered the various queries raised.

The Ministry approved diversion of this forest land for use by the projects in exchange for transfer and mutation of equivalent extent of non-forest land and funds to raise compensatory afforestation.
