Bid to create awareness among the masses to conserve wildlife CHANDIGARH: Haryana Minister of State for Forests and Tourism Kiran Choudhry said on Tuesday that the State Government was planning to increase the protected area of forests in consultation with the local people. She disclosed that about 130 acres of pond (Joharh) were being declared as Community Reserve at Gaibi Sahib village in Jind district in keeping with the wishes of the village people. Speaking at the concluding function of the State Level Wildlife Week celebrations at Morni, she said the Haryana Forest Department had taken concrete steps to create awareness among the masses to conserve wildlife and habitat in the State.
