“MP’s decision to disband STC against labour laws”

Bhopal: Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi on Tuesday said Madhya Pradesh Government’s decision to disband “hurriedly” the State Road Transport Corporation was not only against the Centre’s directive but also against the labour laws.

Ms. Jamuna Devi asked the State Government to rehabilitate the Corporation employees before moving forward.

In a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday, she asked him to immediately stop de-nationalising the reserved national highways for the corporation.

“The State Government is expediting the closure process of the state road transport corporation. To close the corporation without rehabilitating its 1300 employees is not only inhuman but also against the law,” she wrote to the Chief Minister.

She said the no-objection certificate provided by the Centre also speaks about protection of employees interests. Therefore, any move to close the corporation would be illegal. - PTI
