Counselling for non-local teachers on Oct. 12

VIZIANAGARAM: Counselling for non-local teachers who were repatriated from other districts as per GO 610 and reported here a few days ago will be held at the Collectorate from 11 am on October 12, according to District Educational Officer N.Franklin. He told reporters on Tuesday that 361 teachers from 14 districts had so far reached here in three phases. Of them 77 were already accommodated in various schools and counselling for the balance 284 teachers would be held on the said date.

The services of repatriated teachers would be utilised at the non-panel high schools where the teacher-pupil ratio was below the stipulated norms. The DEO said that 109 non-locals appointed between 1994 and 98 and 14 between 2000 and 2004 would be relieved shortly to report at Srikakulam.

G. Srinivasulu Naidu, Teacher MLC, who was present, said that the MEOs would draw their salaries at the original places of postings and post the DDs to the teachers until the supernumerary posts were sanctioned.

The Chief Secretary had agreed to such an arrangement, Mr. Naidu said.

He also allayed fears of candidates who were provisionally selected through DSC-2006 as reshuffling of non-locals would not affect their appointments.

The MLC said that those who were already relieved could report at the DEOs office during the ensuing Dasara vacations.

Mr. Naidu said that Rs. 55,000 each would be sanctioned to schools for construction of toilets. In Vizianagaram district alone some 330 high schools lacked toilets, he added.
