CPI(M) points to lacunae in Indiramma

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: As the district administration, especially the housing and the revenue departments, is literally working overtime to get houses ready for inauguration by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at Ithepalle village as part of ‘Indiramma Grihapravesalu’, the CPI(M) on Tuesday came out with a chargesheet listing the shortcomings in the scheme as a whole in the State and in Ithepalle in particular.

The Chittoor district secretary of the CPI(M), K. Murali, at the instance of the State leadership, picked holes in the programme. Making a specific mention of the Ithepalle scheme after what he called a 10-day ‘meticulous survey,’ the district party unit alleged that of the 84 houses slated for inauguration in the village by the Chief Minister on Wednesday, barely 57 were ready, that too after the entire Government machinery camped there.

If this is the fate of a colony to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, the case of the normal ones need not be overemphasised, the note said.
