Promises a series of sops if TDP is voted to power

Rs. 1,000 promised for unemployed youth

Plans to create a corpus fund for farm sector

Going all out: TDP president N. Chandrababau Naidu addressing a gathering during a roadshow at Mulug in Warangal on Tuesday.

GOVINDARAOPET MANDAL (WARANGAL DT.): Overwhelmed by the turnout of people to his roadshow, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu promised a series of sops and asked people to vote for his party.

Mr. Naidu who was here on a two-day visit to the district, began his tour from Gundlavagu which was washed away due to floods last year. It was built with an estimate of Rs. 9 crore.

The TDP president said if his party was voted to power, he would create a corpus fund of Rs. 1,000 crore for agricultural sector to help the farmers in times of crisis. The fund would be utilised to maintain Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural produce. The TDP government would revise the existing old age pension from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 per month, would give Rs. 1,000 per month to the educated unemployed youth, ensure free power supply for nine hours uninterrupted without fluctuations and also rice to the poor at Rs. 2 per Kg.

Interacting with the victims at Gundlavagu project, Mr. Naidu accused the Congress MLAs and Ministers of colluding with the contractors.

There was no quality material used and no engineering principles followed while executing the project. The government neither recovered the public money from the contractor nor came to the rescue of the victims.

“It is pathetic to see scores of women who lost their cattle and livelihood. I will standby you and if the TDP comes to power, it will give you suitable compensation and sanction another project,” he told the victims who came to see him.

The TDP president took part in roadshows enroute Parkal at Pasra and Mulug. At Parsa, he alleged that the Indiramma housing and Jalayagnam programmes only helped the Congress leaders and contractors.

“The amount earmarked for housing is not sufficient. During the TDP regime, we only constructed the house and handed them over to the poor,” he reminded.

At Mulugu, Mr. Naidu turned towards the tribals who gathered there and lamented that many tribal hamlets lacked basic medical facilities. The innocent tribals were forced to put up with deadly dengue and other viral fevers.

When a group of TRS and BJP workers raised slogans on separate Telangana, the police courted them away.

TDP leaders K. Srihari, V. Narender Reddy, G. Mohan Rao, Sitakka, E. Dayakar Rao, A. Baswa Reddy, N. Sudhakar Rao, R. Prakash Reddy and others were present.
