JAIPUR: The leaders of Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti met the Government emissaries in Ajmer Jail on Tuesday to negotiate a truce on the ongoing “jail bharo” agitation of the community. The dialogue, initiated a week after the Gujjars courting arrest, would reach its logical conclusion only after the Chief Minister looks into what transpired between both the parties. The talks, which started around 3 in the afternoon, continued till late evening though one of the Government representatives, Rampal Jat, came out around 8 p.m. carrying a written demand from the Gujjar leaders. The six-point charter of demands reportedly includes jobs for the kin of those killed in the May agitation, compensation to the injured and withdrawal of cases filed against members of the community during the period. Those who participated in the talks from the Gujjar community included Kirori Singh Bainsla and Roop Singh, leaders of the Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti and members of the core committee of the Gujjars, Devki Nandan Kaka, Brahma Singh, Ramgopal Guard besides MLAs belonging to both the BJP and the Congress. From the official side, Minister Kalulal Gujjar was present.
