Sindhia lodges plaint with Governor

S. Rajendran

Congress has also asked for a probe into the JD(S)-BJP decisions

BANGALORE: A demand for investigating some of the policy decisions of the H.D. Kumaraswamy Government has surfaced even as the Union Cabinet imposed President’s rule in the State on Tuesday. In a way, the wrath against the rule by the Janata Dal (S)-BJP combine is now surfacing with Mr. Kumaraswamy as the prime target.

Among the first of the political leaders to call on the Governor and lodge a complaint against Mr. Kumaraswamy has been the former Minister and senior Janata Dal (S) leader, P.G.R. Sindhia.

While the Congress leadership has requested the Governor to look into decisions taken by the Government in the recent past, several senior political leaders have sought appointment with the Governor.

Mr. Sindhia called on Rameshwar Thakur and requested the latter to review some of the major decisions taken by the Kumaraswamy Government in the past few months.

In particular, he has referred to the decisions on the allotment of government land to various industries and private companies. Mr. Sindhia told The Hindu that “I will submit a memorandum to the Governor highlighting some of the misdeeds of the previous Government.”

He said that nearly 1,000 acres of land had been made over to private companies. Even without the approval of the Department of Finance and the Department of Industries relating to the quantum of land to be allotted and the price to be prescribed for the sale, the Government had allotted lands, he said.
