MV Department reduces service fee

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has reduced the fee for 10 major services of the Motor Vehicles (MV) Department. The fee for learner’s licence has been reduced from Rs.60 to Rs.50, for the renewal of motor driving licence from Rs.100 to Rs.50, for change of address from Rs.80 to Rs.50 and for duplicate licence from Rs.100 to Rs.50. The new fee for the other services with the old ones within brackets are: issue of badge—Rs.50 (Rs.80), issue of duplicate conductor’s licence —Rs.50 (Rs.100), issue of duplicate conductor’s licence badge—Rs.50 (Rs.100) and issue of new driving school licence, its renewal—Rs.500 (Rs.1,000). The fee for fitness certificates has been reduced from Rs.125 to Rs.100 for LMVs, from Rs.160 to Rs.150 for MMVs and from Rs.240 to Rs.200 for HMVs.
