Congress, CPI(M) men clash near Uduma

KASARAGOD: One Congress worker was injured when an armed gang attacked him at Palakkunnu near Uduma here on Monday night. The assailants are alleged to be CPI (M) workers.
According to Congress leaders, Kannan, 35, who runs a hotel in Pallam was attacked when he went to Palakkunnu to buy provisions. The Bekal police have arrested two CPI (M) workers, Dineshan and Murkesan, in connection with the attack.
The area had been witnessing clashes between Congress and CPI (M) workers during the past few days. Violence erupted when the flag mast of CPI (M) at Thekkekkara, Uduma, was destroyed by a few persons, allegedly Congress workers, on October 6. Four CPI (M) workers and two Congress workers had been injured in the clashes.
