Salem: Montfort Anglo Indian HSS and Ammapet Municipal HSS entered the semifinals of the TNCA-Boost Cup under-17 inter-school cricket tournament at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium here on Tuesday. A century partnership for the opening wicket between Vedha Vyas and Vikraman saw Montfort beat Diamond Rays MHSS by six wickets. Earlier, Ammapet defeated Holy Cross HSS by 10 runs. The scores (quarterfinals): Diamond Rays MHSS 173 for seven in 25 overs (Madan Lal 42) lost to Montfort AIHSS 174 for four in 24.3 overs (Vikraman 44). Ammapet Municipal HSS 154 for six in 25 overs (Nandha Kumar 57) bt Holy Cross MHSS 144 in 25 overs (Iyyappan four for 27). Mallur Govt. HSS 129 in 25 overs lost to Pavadi Municipal HSS 130 for seven in 21.3 overs. VCV GHSS winsAt Coimbatore, VCV GHSS (Vellakinar) defeated Vivekananda HSS (Palladam) by 34 runs in its opening fixture in the TNCA-Boost Cup under-17 inter-school cricket tournament at the SNR Sons grounds here on Tuesday.
