Brennen College triumphs

ALUVA: Brennen College (Thalassery) defeated Assumption (Changanassery) in a five-set thriller and won the Msgr Augustine Maveli memorial inter-collegiate volleyball tournament at the St Xavier’s College here on Tuesday.

The results: Final: Brennen bt Assumption 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 18-16. Semifinals: Brennen bt St. Joseph’s, Irinjalakuda 25-17, 25-18, 25-22; Assumption bt St. Xavier’s, Aluva 25-10, 25-12, 25-12.

Best player awards: Jomol (Brennen, attacker), Shanty Elias (Assumption, setter), Nimisha Joseph (St Xavier’s, promising player). — Principal Correspondent
