Southern Railway women in semifinals

KOCHI: Chennai’s Southern Railway and Mumbai’s Central Railway, topped their respective groups and marched into the women’s semifinals of the second Geojit Cup all-India basketball tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Tuesday evening.

The results (league):

Men: Group A: Central Excise, Kochi 63 (S.S. Deepu 24, Subash Shenoy 19) bt S.E.Central Railway, Chattisgarh 63 (Sharwan Kumar 16, J. Vinoth 12); Central Excise 65 (S. Subash 22, Deepu 15, V. Vivek 10) bt ICF, Chennai 51 (Sikander Ali Raj 16, Thanyavelu 10).

Group B: Sathyabhama University, Chennai 71 (Shinumon Augustine 26, V.M. Antony 13, Manoj Abraham 12, Jerald P. Titus 10) bt BSNL, Thiruvananthapuram 69 (Rahul Krishnan 23, Vijobi Vakkachan 19, Ullas Jose 11); Sathyabhama 79 (Shinumon 22, V.M.Antony 17, Atkinsen 16, Jerald 13) bt Southern Railway, Chennai 56 (B.
