Minister inspects milk society

NAGAPATTINAM: Dairy Development Minister U. Mathivanan on Monday paid a surprise visit to a co-operative milk society at Velipalayam here and inspected records, equipment and payments made to milk producers.The Minister instructed the society officials to increase procurement from 700 litres to 1,000 litres per day and make prompt payment to the milk producers. Mr. Mathivanan said that the Government was making efforts to increase milk production throughout the State and was providing financial assistance through banks for purchase of milch cattle.
