HYDERABAD: Huge contingents of the police were deployed for security arrangements in the city for Lailat-al-Qadr (Jagne ki raat) on Tuesday night.
Additional forces from the neighbouring districts were drawn for overseeing the security arrangements. Patrolling was stepped up on all trunk routes, especially in the central parts of the city like Necklace Road and Tank Bund where mobs played havoc two years ago during ‘Jagne ki raat.’
Special pickets were posted at strategic places in the old city.
Rapid Action Force teams were also deployed at communally sensitive places. Deployment of these teams would be continued till completion of Dasara and Ramzan festivals.
