TIRUPUR: Tirupur North Unit of Communist Party of India(Marxist) on Tuesday appealed to the State Government to fill the Municipal Health Officer (MHO) post in Tirupur Municipality.
In a memorandum to Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin and Health Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, unit secretary N. Gopalakrishnan said sanitary condition was in a poor condition in the town due to stagnant drainage and garbage heaps. Particularly in S.V. Colony, Pappanaickenpalayam, Golden Nagar and Saralakadu areas were a large number of migrant poor workers were residing, the situation was pathetic. “Streets are filled with drainage and garbage and people are prone to diseases,” Mr. Gopalakrishnan said.
He said the officials were not taking comprehensive efforts to check mosquito menace and keep the localities clean.
