Last date for half-yearly returns

CHENNAI: The last date for filing half-yearly returns for service providers is October 25. Special counters will be opened in the office of the Commissioner of Service Tax, Chennai, at Nandanam, according to an official release.

Failure to pay service tax on time will attract penal action and delayed filing of ST-3 will attract a late fee. Those finding it difficult to understand the rules and filling up the form can contact Departmental Officers in the conference hall of the Service Tax Commissionerate on the sixth floor of the building between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on all working days till October 18.
