Modi to the rescue of girl

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening saved a young girl from getting burnt during the inauguration of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University here.

At a function presided over by Mr. Modi and the varsity’s first president and industrialist, Mukesh Ambani, a few sparks fell on the clothes of a young girl, dancing with candles.

Mr. Modi, who noticed this immediately rushed to her side. His bodyguards reached the girl before him, doused the fire and shifted her to safety. The function later continued as per schedule. — PTI
