Narrow win for Wipro

HYDERABAD: Wipro defeated Karvy by two wickets in the Corporate Premiership cricket tournament here on Sunday.

The scores:

Karvy 100 for nine lost to Wipro 101 for eight; Coca-Cola 135 for eight bt Convergys 84; TCS 91 for seven lost to Techpoint Solutions 92 for three.

Apex Covantage 135 for six bt HDFC Standard Life 107; Google 120 for eight bt Airtel 82; The Hindu 175 for seven bt Yash Technologies 63.

GE Money 134 for six bt Computer Associates 103; Synopsys 17 lost to Accenture 118 for no loss; IBM 91 lost to The Hindu 94 for four; Coca-Cola 163 for seven bt Times Group 148 for five.

Shambhavi advances

Shambhavi Dixith beat Neharika 6-2 in the pre-quarterfinals of the girls’ under-12 singles event of the YMCA Kargil Victory sports festival mini and sub-junior tennis tournament here on Tuesday.

Hockey tournament

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will organise the annual open hockey tournament for men from October 24 at the Gymkhana hockey grounds, Secunderabad. The last date for entries is Oct. 22.

Entries may be sent to P. Kanthaiah, Secretary, Hyderabad Hockey Association, at the Gymkhana grounds, or to K. Manoranjan, Tournament Secretary.
