South Zone ‘A’ triumphs

VIJAYAWADA: South Zone ‘A’ emerged champion in the ACA Matrix Labs U-15 inter-zone cricket tournament, which concluded at Guntur on Tuesday.

The scores: South Zone ‘A’ 245 drew with North Zone ‘B’ 145 in 78 overs (K.S. Bharath 31, Rohan Das 30, Saleem three for 36).

Andhra Ranji probables

Andhra Cricket Association has selected 25 probables for the 20-day long Ranji Trophy conditional camp, which begins at Vizag from October 10 to 30.

ANR College posts win

Gudivada’s ANR College defeated Bapatla Arts and Science College 3-2 in the men’s section of the two-day ANU inter-collegiate badminton tournament held at DAR College courts at Nuzvid on Tuesday.

The results: (first round): Men: ANU (Nagarjuna Nagar) bt P.L. College (Gudivada) 3-0; V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College bt Govt. Degree College (Avanigadda) 3-0; P.B. Siddhartha Arts and Science College bt Govt. Degree College (Tiruvuru) 3-0; ANR College (Gudivada) bt Bapatla Arts and Sciences College (Bapatla) 3-2.

Women: Maris Stella College (Vijayawada) bt ANR College (Gudivada) 2-0; Montessori Mahila Kalasala (Vijayawada) bt DAR College (Nuzvid) 2-0.

Lasya bags silver

G. Lasya of Mustabada Chess Academywill represent AP in the National U-11 championship to be held at Kozhikode from October 22 to 30.
