Consumer forum asks builder to pay Rs. 3.51 lakh

TIRUPATI: In a case where a builder failed to fulfil his commitment to complete pending works including installation of a lift in the apartment he had constructed at Maruthi Nagar in Tirupati, the Chittoor Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-II, Tirupati has directed him to pay within six weeks an amount of Rs.3.51 lakh to facilitate completion of the works reportedly left incomplete by him in his apartments. The Forum also directed payment of Rs.2,000 to the petitioner towards legal expenses.

The petitioner, representing the flat owners, represented to the Forum that that the builder not only violated the plan but also failed to complete all the common works .

The Tirupati Municipal Corporation and the TUDA demolished all the 8 shops in the stilt. The Forum President, G.V. Raghavulu gave the ruling against the builder.
