Crackdown on bogus family cards

Staff Reporter

NAMAKKAL: District Supply Officials had detected 2,931 bogus family cards in the district in the last five weeks and supply of essential commodities was stopped against these cards.

Instructions

A press release said the district supply office launched the drive against bogus family cards following instructions from Collector G. Sundaramurthi. Officials conducted a door-to-door survey to eliminate the bogus family cards. The release said stern action would be initiated against those using bogus family cards.

Elimination

The salesmen in the fair price shops should sell goods to the family members mentioned in the cards. Officials would continue to verify the family cards and eliminate all the bogus cards, the release added.
