VIZIANAGARAM: Former chief priest of Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Temple Bantupalli Bairagi Naidu told a press conference on Wednesday that the 55-foot-tall tree which would be shaped into a Sirimaanu (ceremonial
post) for the ensuing ’jaatara’ on October 23 was identified in a farm land at Geddapeta, 3 km from Bondapalli, the mandal headquarters village, on Tuesday. He said that the farmers had agreed to donate the tree which would be felled after performing puja and carted to his house in Hukumpeta on Saturday for shaping it into a Sirimaanu. Temple EO P.V.
