Held for stealing car

NEW DELHI: A young man has been arrested near Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station here for allegedly stealing a car.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a Lancer car near the railway station and asked for the vehicle’s documents from the driver. He tried to escape, but was arrested by the police. The registration plate of the car was also found forged.

The accused purportedly told the police that he took a lift in the car and drove off when its owner Ujawal Sarkar stopped at a roadside dhaba to eat.
