Irrigation of over 14,000 hectares in Medak, says Collector
Sangareddy: The Medak District Collector B.Venkatesam, in a meeting with representatives of the World Bank on Tuesday, informed that the district has prepared an action plan for the development of 167 tanks in the district to strengthen small-scale irrigation network.
Pilot project
According to a press release here on Wednesday, the Collector said 66 tanks selected in eleven mandals would be taken up for comprehensive development initially. Out of the 66, only four would be taken up as a pilot project. These model tanks were expected to provide irrigation to at least 14,000 hectares, the Collector added. World Bank representatives Deepak Ahluwalia and Paul Sidhu have visited Ahmadeepur Chervu in Gajwel mandal and made suggestions for its development.
