Painting competition held

Budding talents: A painting competition for schoolchildren organised at the Head Post Office in Kollam on Thursday as part of the National Postal Week celebrations.

KOLLAM: As part of the National Postal Week Celebrations, which began on Tuesday, a painting competition for school students was organised at the Head Post Office here on Thursday.

Post Master of the HPO R. Venunathan Pillai, said 54 students from 10 schools across the city participated in the competition. In connecti on with the celebrations, a philatelic workshop for the school students was held at the Saint Joseph’s Convent Girls HSS. Mr. Pillai said a visit for schoolchildren to the HPO was also arranged. The programme is to make stude nts get a first hand knowledge on the working of post offices.
