KOLLAM: The 4th State conference of BSNL Employees Union will be held here from November 5 to 7. At a press conference here on Thursday, Kollam MP and chairman of the conference reception committee, P. Rajendran, said the conference was being held at a juncture when BSNL was passing through a critical phase due to the policies of the Central Government. The general convener of the conference said efforts were on to get Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan to inaugurate the conference. In connection with the conference, three regional-level seminars are being organised. The first seminar, on the ‘Indo-US nuclear deal,’ will be held at Punalur on October 17. The subject will be presented by Chintha editor C. Bhaskaran. The second seminar will held be at Karunagapally on October 18. The topic will be ‘globalization and the service sector.’ The topic will be handled by Planning Board member K.N. Harilal. The thi rd seminar ‘Imperialism and communalism’ will be held at Kottarakara on October 22.
