Fishermen stage dharna

Kakinada: Fishermen of Kotipalli, Dangeru, Koolla, Masakapalli and Brahmapuri villages of K Gangavaram mandal staged dharna in front of the Zilla Parishad here on Thursday raising slogans in support of their demands. They alleged that the dredging and other operations of Reliance Company had affected the fish catches and their main livelihood. Led by karri Chittibabu secretary district BJP fishermen’s cell they presented a representation to the Minister Pilli Subhas Chandra Bose and the Collector M Subrahmanyam requesting them to provide alternative employment either by government or by the Reliance Company.
