“Situation under control in Karapattu”

CHENGAM: Tension continued to grip Karapattu, 23 kilometres from Chengam in Tiruvannamalai district, as the residents complain about a mysterious disease.

Sources said the residents of Karapattu panchayat complained of fever, headache and body pain. Over 1,000 people from Karapattu and adjoining Madavethu and Acharykottai were treated at a special medical camp at the Karapattu Panchayat Middle School.

Chengam MLA Polur Varadan visited Karapattu on Thursday. Talking to reporters he said the situation was under control and there was nothing to panic.
