HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party on Thursday favoured bringing the Chief Minister’s post under the purview of the anti- corruption institution of Lok Ayukta.
This was stated by Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, leader of the TDP in the Legislative Council, in response to a question on the party’s view on CPI State Secretary K. Narayana’s suggestion for such inclusion.
Mr. Rao said the party would also like to see that the orders passed by Lok Ayukta were made binding on the Government.
He said Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy appeared scared of the response to party president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s meetings in districts and suddenly decided to announce pro-poor welfare measures after forgetting them for three years now.
Dr. Reddy could claim patent for factionism and corruption , he added.
