Udupi: A boy was injured and various electrical equipments in a house were damaged when lightning struck the house on Wednesday night. The Udupi Town Police said here on Thursday that the boy, Deepesh, suffered minor injuries when lightning struck the house of Sridhar Bangera in Niampalli area of the city. The entire electrical wiring of the house got burnt and various electrical equipments such as fans, bulbs, stereo and television were damaged. Some walls of the house had developed cracks. The damage is estimated at Rs. 3 lakh, the police said. — Staff Correspondent
