MEG enters final

KOCHI: Peter John was in fine nick (24 points) as MEG, Bangalore halted the impressive run of ICF (Chennai) 60-53 and entered the men’s final of the second Geojit Cup all-India basketball tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor Stadium here on Thursday evening.

The results:

Men: Semifinal: MEG, Bangalore 60 (Peter John 24, Tinu Joseph 13, Lloyd Antony 11) bt ICF, Chennai 77 (Tony Leslie16, Balaji 10).

League matches: Group A: Central Excise, Kochi 65 (Subash J. Shenoy 19, V. Vivek 18, Joseph John 13) bt Indian Army 65 (P.V. Rajeev 30). Group B: MEG 70 (Peter John 21, Tinu Joseph 19) bt Sathyabhama University, Chennai 48 (Shinumon Augustine 13, Atkinson 10).

Women: Semifinals: Central Railway, Mumbai 64 (Geo Blessen 16, K.S. Anu 11, Manisha Dange 10, S. Indu 10) bt South Western Railway, Hubli 45 (Chandralekha 16, K.K. Nimisha 13).

Veteran men: Semifinals: Kottayam Veterans 46 (Koshy Abraham 13, Idicula T. Paul 13) bt Regional Sports Centre, Kochi 40 (Salim 17, Paul George 12).
