MUMBAI: Khandu Rangnekar XI came from behind to turn the tables on Dattu Phadkar XI, recording an exciting four-run win on the last day of the four-day 22nd Sportstar Trophy U-19 MCA selection trial tournament, here. Needing 93 runs for victory, Phadkar XI slumped from its overnight 16 for two to 88 all out against the spin trio of offie Farhan Khan (three for 26), left-armers Gaurav Jathar (two for 21) and Sujit Nayak (two for eight). Pankaj Jaiswal’s 76 off 110 balls (5 x 4, 3 x 6) and an unbeaten 70 by Sukhil Venkataramani off 63 balls (12x4, 1x6) went in vain as Vijay Manjrekar XI fell 73 runs short of the target against Vijay Merchant XI. Medium-pacer Harshal Nandu (four for 57) was the pick of the bowlers, supported by spinners Pushkaraj Chavan (two for 83), Rehmani Sufiyan (two for 81) and seamer Akshay Palkar (two for 48).
