SNPC in semifinals

CHENNAI: Sree Narayana Public School (SNPC) defeated Vidya Mandir (Chennai) 2-0 in a boys’ under-14 quarterfinal match of the CBSE south zone tennis tournament, organised by DAV Public School (Velachery), here on Thursday.

The results: Boys’ u-19 (quarterfinals): Chettinad Vidyashram (Chennai) bt Vidya Mandir (Chennai) 2-0; Jain International Residential (Ban) bt Bala Vidya Mandir (Chen) 2-0; PSBB SSS (Chen) bt St. John’s IRS (Chen) 2-0; Modern (Chen) bt The Lawrence School (Ooty) 2-0.

Boys’ u-14 (quarterfinals): Sree Narayana Public School (Kerala) bt Vidya Mandir SSS 2-0; Chettinad Vidyashram bt Jain IRS (Ban) 2-0; PSBB bt B.V. Reddy (AP) 2-1; Modern bt PSBB 2-0.

Girls’ u-19 (second round): AMSP Obul Reddy Public School (Hyd) bt Jain IRS 2-0; Jindal Vijayanagar School (Bellary) bt The Lawrence School 2-0; Modern bt PSBB 2-0.

Girls u-14 (second round): AMSP Obul Reddy Public School bt Chettinad Vidyashram 2-1; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya (Tirupati) bt St. Joseph’s Central School (Mysore) 2-1; Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Begumpet (Hyderabad) bt Bala Vidya Mandir (Chennai) 2-0; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vijayanagar School (Hyd) bt Jindal 2-0.

Kumar scores century

Kumar’s 107 helped BRC record a 178-run win over Bunts CC in a TNCA third division ‘A’ league cricket match played here.

Athletics tournament

The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu will conduct the State-ranking athletics competition at SDAT Nehru Stadium, here on October 13.

The competition will be held for boys, girls, men and women in the following categories: Category I: Std. VII to IX; II: Std. X to XII; III: Open (No age restriction).
