DJ Shiver to present Disco Dandiya

PUDUCHERRY: SecSat Pondy, a music programme organised live every second Saturday of the month, offers listeners music of different genres this time.

Keeping in tune with the times, and since they have a great sound system, they are bringing in Disco Dandiya with DJ Shiver so that those of you who wants to shake a leg can do so.

This edition of SecSat Pondy will be held at Salle Jeanne d’Arc on Romain Roland Street (near Cluny Hospital behind the SBI) from 7 p.m. onwards on October 13.

Tribute to Kishoreda

Singer Shaji will pay tribute to the late Kishore Kumar on the occasion of his 40th anniversary.

Kishoreda’s fans can listen to a mix of old hits and some of Shaji’s numbers from his upcoming album.

Featuring ‘Inside Out’

The organisers say that Inside Out, an acoustic or alternative rock band by a group of students and faculty of audio engineering based in Chennai has made a name for itself among discerning listeners.

Nadisha, the vocalist, is trained in Western Classical music.

She often moonlights with industry greats such as A.R. Rahman.

Sam G from Orissa, who also has a Western Classical background, concentrates on the guitar and also helps with the vocals.

Anish, the other guitarist, is a veteran from the Delhi scene.

Anish has also cut an album with his band ‘Descant’.

Avinash loves punk music and plays bass, while Manu holds the band together with his eclectic drumbeats.

The band Inside Out will present a selection of their favourite numbers from international artistes such as Pearl Jam, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Alice in Chains etc.

The Usual Suspects have recruited a blues harp player to play in their band. This will enable them to play the blues genre of music besides other types on Saturday.
