Belgaum: The “navratri” celebrations, which began on Friday, have come as a welcome relief for the people after nearly four-month-long rainy season. The market is bustling with buyers looking for a good bargain. With Id-ul-Fitr likely to be celebrated on Saturday, the traders never had it so good. Navratri is just one festival which comes as bouquet of religious, devotional, cultural and recreational activities for almost a fortnight, including the Dasara sports competition organised by the State Government. What adds zing to the celebrations in this region is the “dandia raas” or the “garba dance”.
