A former MLA and Dharwad unit chief have an altercation Some party leaders seek action against the former MLA HUBLI: The infighting in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to the fore with a former MLA belonging allegedly hitting the president of the district unit president. The alleged incident, which took place on Thursday, forced the party of hold a district unit office-bearers meeting again at the residence of the former minister Jagadish Shettar on Friday. According to party sources, the meeting arrived at a decision to urge the former Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, who was in Hubli on Friday, to initiate disciplinary action against the former MLA. Although the infighting among the party leaders had subsided in the last several months, the results of the corporation elections had once again resulted in some BJP leaders blaming their own party men for their defeat. On Thursday night, during the meeting, Mr. Katwe reportedly questioned the district unit president Datta Dorle on why he had not invited some senior leaders to the meeting. Abrupt endAccording to sources, this sparked an altercation between the two and Mr. Katwe allegedly hit Mr. Dorle. As a result, the meeting in which former MLA Chandrakant Bellad had taken part, abruptly ended. However Mr. Dorle did not file any police complaint in this regard. Yediyurappa’s anguishMr. Yediyurappa made use of the inaugural ceremony of the “Dasara Darbar” of the swamiji of Rambhapuri Peeth in Hubli on Friday to vent out his anguish against the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and his son H.D. Kumaraswamy. Inaugurating the 10-day religious function at the Nehru Grounds in Hubli on Friday evening, Mr. Yediyurappa dedicated a major portion of his speech to criticise the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and his son and former chief minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy. The former Deputy Chief Minister referred to various allusions and stories from mythology to elucidate his situation and the suffering he was made to undergo. He said it was the religion which had all the solutions for the problems of the human beings and called upon everybody to follow “Manava Dharma” in their lives. The former ministers Jagadish Shettar, Katta Subramanya Naidu, Dharwad North MP Pralhad Joshi, and Congress leader Prakash Bendigeri were present.
