BANGALORE: Janata Dal (United) president and former Union Minister Sharad Yadav called on the Governor Rameshwar Thakur here on Friday. Accompanied by the party’s State unit president B. Somashekhar, Mr Yadav made a courtesy call on Mr. Thakur, both of whom come from the same State — Bihar — and claim a long acquaintance. The Janata Dal (United) leaders urged the Governor to review the state of the Public Distribution System in the State. They also wanted the Governor to look into the problems of the farmers, who were reeling under problems like crop failure, debt and many farmer-unfriendly policies of the Government. Mr. Somashekhar said the Governor had also been apprised of the urgent need to review the excessive land acquisition for Special Economic Zones around Bangalore.
