CHANDIGARH: Montgomery College, based in Maryland, US, will assist Haryana in adopting its best practices through professional development, curriculum sharing, strategic planning, budgeting, institutional advancement, faculty and student exchange with the universities of Haryana. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the College and the Haryana Government in Washington in the presence of visiting Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. An official spokesman said here on Friday that the Montgomery College would seek supplemental funding support from US Government agencies and Indian and American corporate world. Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, Mr. Hooda said the “partnership” would be extended to under-graduate and graduate studies with special focus on Haryana-based industries. The State Government and Montgomery College would jointly develop new curricula for the Government Polytechnic in Manesar. Also, a community college model would be replicated in this polytechnic to help create and develop a technical work force at under-graduate and graduate levels. This model will be replicated in polytechnic colleges subsequently. Mr. Hooda attended a reception hosted by US-India Business Alliance and Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans at Rayburn House Building on Capitol Hill. Speaking on the occasion, he reiterated his vision to make Haryana the most preferred investment destination.
