Kankipadu MLA lashes out at Naidu

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: Kankipadu MLA Devineni Rajasekhar came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu on the eve of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s visit to the city. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Rajasekhar, in a bid to make a case that the TDP president had forgotten his ideology and philosophies, read out few paragraphs from a book titled ‘Naa Mansulo Maata’ penned by the TDP president in 2004.

The MLA said that Mr. Naidu, in his book, made a strong pitch for reforms and opposed subsidies to the farmers. In fact, he (Naidu) termed the agriculture as a waste. Mr. Naidu had forgotten his ideology and philosophy in the last four years. Now, he was making a vain bid to impress the people and farmers by copying other’s manifestoes. Moreover, he was reviving the TDP founder president N T Rama Rao’s welfare policies like Two rupees rice scheme. But, the people knew that he had no commitment and service motto. The chief minister rightly pointed out that only former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao had patent right on ‘Two rupees rice scheme’, he said.

The MLA said the TDP leader was on “promises spree” with a hope that mid term polls were round the corner. Mr. Naidu also stoop down to such a level that he alleged that the chief minister was making Rs. One crore for every one hour, he said adding, “May be it is his experience. We welcome the government’s move to appoint a commission to inquire into the allegations levelled by Mr. Naidu.” City Congress president Pyla Somi Naidu and PCC secretary Kolanukonda Sivaji were present.
