HYDERABAD: The Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) has rejected Pakistan’s request to hold its general assembly meeting in 2009. The CISM found fault with Pakistan for not participating in the fourth edition of the Military World Games, commencing here from October 14. “It’s a mistake”“We have clearly told them that we will not come to Pakistan if they don’t participate in this edition of the games. This is a mistake and we will underline this mistake,” CISM president Brigadier General Gianni Gola said. “No reason given”Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he said that no reason was cited and no answer given to the communication sent by the CISM, asking Pakistan to send a delegation to the fourth edition of the Military World Games. Pakistan took part in the previous edition of the games held in Catania, Italy. The CISM sent several letters to Pakistan asking it to follow the same spirit as they do in participating in the civilian games with India. “We don’t understand why Pakistan did not come,” he said. Brigadier General Gola said some countries, particularly from South America and Africa, could not participate in the mega event due to different reasons, including financial constraints.
