SAI ‘C’ moves up

BANGALORE: Sports Authority of India ‘C’ qualified for the second phase of the D.S. Murthy & V. Karunakaran memorial hockey tournament with a thumping 15-0 win over Naveen Hockey Club at the KSHA stadium here on Friday.

Nikin Thimmaiah scored four goals (2nd, 6th, 13th & 35th), Naveen Patil three (45th, 52nd & 60th), Mohammed Naeemuddin, Biju and Muthanna scored two each. Deepak and Poonacha with one each completed the tally.

Madras Engineering Group (Boys) ‘B’ and Naveen Hockey Club ‘B’ also qualified.

Other results: SAI ‘B’ 1 (Ashwin) bt RBI 0; Sree Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College 3 (Bopanna, Puneeth, Charmanna) bt Flying HC 1 (Dharmendra).
