Sehwag, Parthiv, Kaif to lead India teams

Mumbai: Virender Sehwag, Parthiv Patel and Mohd. Kaif have been named captain of India Blue, India Green and India Red teams for the N.K.P. Salve Trophy Challenger series (limited over matches) to be played at Ahmedabad from October 25 to 28.

According to the BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah, the players, who have been busy right from the Future Cup series in Ireland, have been rested.

“India has a long international season ahead and many players have been given rest,” said Mr. Shah.

India Blue: Virender Sehwag (Delhi-capt.), Ajinkya Rahane (Mumbai), Dinesh Karthik (TN-wk), Suresh Raina (UP), Neeraj Patel (Guj), Arjun Yadav (Hyd), Joginder Sharma (Har), Ramesh Powar (Mumbai), Amit Mishra (Har), Yomahesh (TN), Ranadeb Bose (Bengal), Swapnil Asnodkar (Goa), Rakesh Dhruv (Saurashtra), Saurav Bandekar (Goa), Praveen Amre (coach).

India Green: Parthiv Patel (Gujarat-capt. & wk.), Cheteshwar Pujara (Saurashtra), Rohit Sharma (Mumbai), Murli Kartik (Rly.), Manoj Tiwary (Bengal), Yusuf Pathan (Baroda), Abhishek Nayar (Mumbai), Niranjan Behra (Orissa), Iqbal Abdullah (Mumbai), Pankaj Singh (Rajasthan), Munaf Patel (Mah), Gagandeep Singh (Punjab), Anirudh Srikkanth (TN), Satyajeet Parab (Mah), Venkatesh Prasad (coach).
