BANGALORE: The city is all set for Navratri celebrations with a host of interesting — and some rather novel — programmes on offer, including doll display competitions, a celebration of the saptaswaras and miniature art depictions of mythology. In the doll display competition conducted by Bharat Vikas Parishad, judges will go door-to-door for a spot visit at anytime on any day from October 12 to 21. The competition will be held in Jayanagar, Basavangudi, Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar, Malleswaram and Indiranagar. For details, call 26612767. Those musically inclined will appreciate the theme chosen by Manava Seva Kendra for their programmes this Navratri. Between October 14 and 21, seven musicians will participate in celebrating the saptaswaras. For more information on this event call 23610683. Artist Deepika Dorai explains that “theatre in still miniature art form” brings together different media to “freeze a moment” in mythology with the help of miniature art. These creations will be open between October 12 and 21 at 256 A, 5th Main, 36th Cross, Jayanagar 5th Block. For details, call 41489354.
