Ananth Kumar’s statement condemned

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Members of the Bangalore City Youth Congress Committee on Friday condemned the former Union Minister Ananth Kumar for his statement that his party would convert the Bababudan Giri into Datta Peetha in Chikmagalur district.

The leaders were aghast at the ignorance of the BJP leader that he should not have made any reference to the issue as it was before the Karnataka High Court. They set fire to the effigy of Mr. Ananth Kumar and said it (his statement) only showed that his party was bent on creating communal tension in the State. V.S. Ugrappa, MLC, said that Mr. Ananth Kumar was charged with committing serious financial irregularities in HUDCO when he was handling the Union Urban Development Ministry in the National Democratic Alliance Government.

Now, he said, Mr. Ananth Kumar was trying to create disturbances in the State.
