BANGALORE: Speaker Krishna on Friday decided to issue summons to Janata Dal (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda seeking the latter’s appearance before him on November 17 with respect to a petition seeking disqualification of 40 Janata Dal (S) MLAs, including the former Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy. Following a plea by the respondents, the Speaker decided to issue summons to Mr. Deve Gowda to seek an explanation on the contents of the letter written by him to the then Governor T.N. Chaturvedi on January 18, 2006 when 40 MLAs of his party decided to align with the BJP to form a Government in the State. Next hearingThe next hearing will be held on November 17.
