RAJAHMUNDRY: In a ghastly incident here on Friday evening, crackers stored in a house for the coming Deepavali exploded leaving one person dead and six injured.
The blast occured in Venkateswara Matam street off Ganesh Chowk near Devi Chowk centre. According to Fire Officer D.R.K. Raju and Town police Inspector Trinatha Rao, the crackers burst in the second floor of a three-storied building around 4.40 p.m. The body of one Chamarti Satyanarayana alias Sattibabu flew into the air in the impact before falling on the roof of the adjacent house.
The rubbles of the third floor of the building and side walls of the second floor were reduced to pieces.
