PUDUCHERRY: The Education Department has given medals and certificates to some lecturers working on hourly basis for producing cent per cent results in higher secondary examinations. “But many of them are currently running from pillar to post seeking to be absorbed as regular staff,” a member of the Government Hourly Basis Lecturers Association said. The association, with 81 members, has made a plea to Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Education Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan, and the Secretary and officials of the Education Department, in this regard.
