Walavalkar eyeing early points

NEDUMBASSERY: Ameya Walavalkar is a hungry man. After missing the top honours to Chennai’s Aditya Patel by just half a point in the recent JK Tyre series, the Mumbai youngster is keen to grab big early points in the MRF-MAI National karting championship season-opener which begins at the Cochin International Airport circuit here on Saturday.

Giving him a tough fight should be Mumbai’s Rayomand Banajee and Goan Audumber Hede in the World Formula Class for Seniors (15 years and above), the premier event where the professionals will be seen in action. — Principal Correspondent
