‘Bazaar’ comes to silk city

shoppers’ delight: An outlet of Bazar Kolkata attracts crowd in Berhampur.

BERHAMPUR: Bazaar Kolkata has opened its shopping mall in the city on Saturday.

It is the first shopping mall of any major retail outlet chain in south Orissa.

The family store chain already has its units in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Asansol, Patna, Surat and Guwahati.

In Orissa it has two units in Bhubaneswar and one each in Cuttack and Puri.

Speaking to The Hindu Ramesh Khamka of the shopping mall said with the inauguration of Berhampur unit the chain now has 14 outlets across the country.

Meanwhile, for the residents here, shopping at the three-storied mega shopping mall is a new experience, but small-time traders are certainly nervous about it as they fear trouble for their trade. According to them, people generally gets attracted to the big malls, selling a wide range of products at one place.
